Artist Statement

My art expresses my observation and interpretation of natural and architectural images. It is inspired the underlaying structure within everything that we perceive - whether a soaring white pine, a rocky formation or a steel skeleton supporting a building facade. As one moves through space the view changes, reflections vary, light and dark reverse and focus shifts.

Many of my works explore Urban cityscapes, capturing a moment in time. Structure is evident in the controlled grids and defined lines that form the layered images within my paintings. These idealized city views are universal - without signage or recognizable icons - each celebrates the beauty of pure geometry, across specific cultures, politics or societies.
